3,333!----Moon-Viewing Painting----
A little while back, I got started on a painting based on a scene from
Taiko and while the actual painting has got a ways to go, since I was getting a few other pictures off the camera, I'd put the sketch up.
So here's what I started with- just some rough guidelines since I know all the lines will be lost under the acrylics.
I don't usually do any pencil sketching before starting my paintings. I just...well, start painting. It's an unnecessary step for me when I'm just making it up as a I go or copying a photo, but for something like this were I was blending several different references together it didn't seem wise to go into it blind if I wanted to fit Hideyoshi, Kanbei, and Hanbei into the picture together properly.
Here you can see all my things out before I started painting. I used some embarrassing pictures of myself as reference for the poses and I based most of the looks of the three men off of the way they were portrayed in the NHK Taiga Drama "Komyo ga Tsuji" a few years ago.
----Take an old painting off my hands?---
I was fishing through my piles of papers and paintings in my room and I came across some old (well, of various ages) paintings that I don't really want, so I figured I might as well offer them to you folks. So, these are all for sale "as is" without mats or frames. I uploaded photos of all of them to my scraps section as well, so there are some more comments about each separate piece there.
I'm not really looking to make any money, so pay for the shipping and they're yours! (If you're interested, just ask and I'll get a shipping estimate.) They're all very light, so the price would come from their size...
